Account information: Your email address and name when you create an account.
Photos: Images you upload for use in your storybooks.
Order information: Details related to your storybook purchases and delivery address.
Usage data: Anonymous analytics about how you interact with the Service to help us improve it.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information solely to provide and improve the Service:

Processing and transforming your photos using AI
Producing and delivering your storybooks
Sending transactional emails (order confirmations, photo retention notifications)
Improving the Service based on aggregated, anonymised usage patterns

3. Photo Storage & Retention

Your privacy and control over your photos is a top priority. Here is how we handle your uploaded images:

30-day retention: After your book purchase is completed, your photos are stored securely for 30 days. This gives you time to reorder or create new books with the same images.
Immediate deletion on request: You can request immediate deletion of your photos at any time after your book has been dispatched, either through your My Photos dashboard or by contacting us directly.
Deletion notification: Before the 30-day period expires, we will send you an email notification informing you that your photos are scheduled for deletion. This gives you the chance to extend the retention period if you wish.
Extension option: You can extend the retention period from your My Photos dashboard to keep your photos available for longer.
Permanent deletion: After the retention period ends (with no extension), all your photos and any associated transformed images are permanently and irrecoverably removed from our servers.

4. AI Processing & Training

When you use our art-style transformation feature, your photos are processed by a third-party AI service. We want to be completely transparent about how your images are handled:

No AI training: Your photos and data are never used to train, fine-tune, or improve any AI models. This is guaranteed by the terms of the paid API tier we use.
Processing only: Your images are sent to the AI service solely to generate the transformed artwork you requested, and are not retained by the AI provider after processing.
No third-party access: Your photos are not shared with, viewed by, or accessible to any other users of the AI service.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information or photos with third parties, except:

With printing and delivery partners, solely to fulfil your storybook orders
When required by law or legal process
With your explicit consent

6. Data Security

We use industry-standard encryption and security measures to protect your photos and personal data. All uploads are transmitted over HTTPS and stored in encrypted cloud storage.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you
Request correction of inaccurate data
Request deletion of your data and photos at any time
Withdraw consent for data processing
Export your data in a portable format

8. Cookies & Local Storage

We use essential cookies and your browser's local storage to make the site work. No tracking or advertising cookies are used. Specifically, we store:

Login session — your authentication token, kept in local storage to keep you signed in
Cart contents — items in your basket, saved locally so they persist between visits
Currency preference — your selected display currency
Free usage counts — your remaining free AI transformations, story generations and colouring page credits, tracked locally

None of this data is shared with third parties or used for marketing purposes. You can clear it at any time by clearing your browser's site data.

9. Children's Privacy

Books Bespoke is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or a notice on the Service.
